Holiday Traditions

There are just so many things to love about
the holidays. But topping my list of favorite
holiday traditions is getting down the ornament
box and sorting through the glittery heirloom
treasures. When my girls were wee ones they
would sit for hours in whispered conversation
and gleeful giggles rekindling connections of long
lost jingle jolly friends. I knew back then that
these would be those snap shot moments that
would stay with me my whole life and that the
holidays are merely a gateway where
make-believe transcends reality and in the
quiet moments magic is palpable.

I love the holidays; you've captured its magic so eloquently! If I were one of Santa's elves, my name would be Tinsel! Heck, why not-- I'm gonna sign my name that way during these winter months. It will be fun! Hmm. Do you think my checks will clear?

Love the holidays too! And you are right, going through the ornaments to put on the tree is one of my favorite things :D

Cheers!

Beautifully said! I absolutely adore pulling out each of my treasured ornaments each year. It's like seeing a good friend after being away for a year. I look at the "theme" trees that so many do, and while they are lovely, I know that my trees will always be filled with my ornaments from through the years. Each has some special memory for me. ~ Sarah

That's absolutely beautiful!
And I agree, I have a box of my mums old ornaments from Austria, I just love them. And so many fond memories of Christmas time when my brothers and I were kids.
My favorite one was always the red devil, Krampus. My mum and Dad used to have lots of stories about him!

Your post brought a little tear to my eye because it makes me realize that all of the moments I enjoy with my little one will be sweet memories before I realize it! It reminds us to make sure every moment we can is one to remember!

I believe that I have one of these Angels. The only difference is her legs are moveable and she has on a pink dress.

The face is the exact same. Too adorable.
