Time Marches On

...or in my case, is in a full out sprint.
Panic set in today as I stood in the very
recently remodeled ribbon isle at my local
craft store. As another chorus of Jingle Bells
filled the air I realized that the retailers
have already moved on to the holiday of
HoHo
happiness. That overwhelming feeling
of being behind took hold as I'm no where
near ready to start whipping out the chubby
cherubs nor tinseled trees. After a long,
deep cleansing breath, I was able to regroup,
grab a spool of Halloween ribbon
(now in the clearance isle)
and continue on with my preparations for the
onslaught of ghosts and goblins who are about
to haunt my home in the coming weeks.
Though I can't stop the hands of time,
I plan on celebrating this holiday as if
I have time on my hands.

Bat Box with Boo Ornaments now on eBay.

Absolutely true! Every shop I've been into is moving out Halloween and Christmas is taking over. It's so hard to tune it out and stay focused on the appropriate holiday!

Oh I know! I had to calm myself down in Michael's just the other day. They do have a way of making us feel behind, but the good part is we get seasonals at clearance prices at the peak of the season! Take ear plugs next trip!

I'm with Pink! I get a bit miffed when I see stores with Christmas out before Halloween even arrives. Don't panic though, we can push them back by not giving in....Lol. Okay and I say this as a Santa creator who is in full swing....:-)
Your boo ornies are wonderful! Love the box as well.

Oh yeah.... Last weekend Walmart had Christmas songs piped throughout the store!! I think it is too early.... I think we all get a little "burned out" by the time Christams does come around!

Great Boo ornaments! Whoever that retailer is with the Holiday Music really needs to be sat on by a really big fat man for another month or so.

Nah, don't worry! I think it's getting a little out of hand with stores trying to one up each other and grab shoppers "first"....I don't even think about Christmas until after Thanksgiving, so just keep doing the fabulous Halloween stuff that you do!

I know, particularly for artists and other crafty people, there's often a feeling of being in two parallel times, not quite in phase. We have to plan ahead while still trying to enjoy the very holidays we love so much. Sometimes I miss the days when my kids were young and forced me to live in the moment more.
