I've been experiencing a bit of "empty nest" syndrome this week,
or to be more precise... an "empty studio" syndrome.
All the little characters that have been inhabiting my work space
since January are being primped and packed for their upcoming debut
at Halloween & Vine.
This may sound a bit strange, but I am going to miss their cheeky little faces
peering at me from my studio shelves, my constant companions for
the better part of the year.
Just between you and me, I must admit that I have become quite fond of
a few of these rambunctious rascals, finding it difficult to let them go.
I often wonder if other fellow artists struggle with a similar bout of
separation anxiety before showtime. I suppose it's the price we pay for
living an artful life, peddling our goods like gypsies in order to live like artists.
