Bye, bye Bat King

She made me an offer I couldn't refuse...
The Grungy Bat King will be ruling the roost
in his new Southern California castle. Another
Plumpkin will be up for adoption tomorrow
evening on eBay.
Happy weekend to all as we say farewell to May!

Fly away home

The spell has been cast and I am bewitched.

House Guests

All work and no play makes Melissa a
happy gal! Last week was one of those rare and
gloriously productive weeks where I was able to
make serious headway on the multitude of munch kins
that have been inhabiting my studio in various stages
of completion. After a few more final touches, I will
be posting one on eBay, one in etsy and the rest will be
added to the inventory of whimsical creatures that
will be accompanying me to my upcoming Fall show.
Wishing you all a week of creative abundance!
I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.

A Monday of MAYhem

I hope you all had a joy filled weekend paying
tribute to the art of mothering and are now off
to a start of a week of wondrous living.

Today I find myself surrounded by pudgy
faced pumpkins and a gang of grungy ghosts
all waiting patiently to be painted and primped.
Sounds like the makings of a perfect studio day!

Send in the Clowns

I bet you didn't know that juggling is one of
my "many" hidden talents. No word play here. I'm
talking about the actual skill of throwing objects
in the air for entertainment. No sharp or flaming
objects, just bean bags, tennis balls or the occasional
lemons from the kitchen. I like how juggling demands
my concentration and for a moment in time I am
consumed with the constant refocusing of my
attention. Studio time has the same effect on me.
Losing myself in the playful magic of creativity
are rare moments as of late but I honor their
coming by giving them my full attention.

Queen of Twitter

My oh my... How does anyone get any work done
in this world of obsessive micro marketing?
I think I need a technological time out or a least a day
of making my studio a technology free zone. My head is
buzzing and not in a good way. Time to shut off the computer,
open the window, listen to bird song and pick up the paint brush
but first let me check in on my tweets and twibes on Twitter.
Somebody help me stop the madness...
