Where Bloggers Create

Karen over at My Desert Cottage is having a blog party today.
Bloggers from around the world will be opening their doors
and inviting us in for a brief glimpse into their creative havens.
So I tidied up a bit, set out some treats and made sure everyone
was appropriately dressed in party attire. Enjoy looking around
my Fantastical World. The door is always opened.

Edgar Allan Poe

Work in progress sneak peek.
Edgar is the second in the trilogy of 3D portraits
that I'll be bringing to the Tinsel and Treasures show.
Can you guess who the third will be?

One step forward...

...two steps back.
Making very little progress today on my
WANT TO DO list. Those pesky NEED TO DOs
are spilling into my creative time. Once I get my
ducks in a row, most likely after sundown, I'll
post a few small items in my Etsy Shop.

Skeleton Under Glass

The perfect one-of-a-kind desk accessory for
those scary piles of paper that are strewn
across your table top.
Now available in my Etsy Shop.

Sticky Threads of Spiderwebs

A hairy, scary spider lives in my back yard.
I know this for sure because I've seen him.
He's so big that he doesn't need to hide.
Everyday he weaves his web and everyday
I somehow mange to blindly walk through it.
Arms flailing, frantic hopping, while screaming
like a little girl immediately follows. Someday
I'm going to relocate that eight legged nuisance
but for now he is my inspiration...

Mad Tea Party

Making my daily trek down the hill to the mail box
can be, on occasion, the highlight of my day. It's a
simple ritual of turning a key and unlocking a
designated box. What makes my routine anything
but ordinary is the contents that lie just behind the
locked door. Any day can feel like a holiday when I
open the mail to find a hand written letter, a favorite
magazine, a vacation postcard, or an unexpected gift
from a friend. Last week was a stellar postal week
when I unlocked my box only to discover a small,
whimsically wrapped box from the über talented
Lori of RetroRudolph's.
This darling little Halloween Tea Pot from Lori's
Mad Tea Blog Party giveaway will now hang
year round on my Halloween Tree. Oh happy Day!
Stop by Lori's blog to see her other beautifully crafted,
vintage style paper maché holiday art pieces.

Halloween Moon

Uncomfortable sideway glances from another
work in progress.
